The desk top is composed of 3-3/4" thick rough cut oak boards jointed together. 
Each board is hand selected according to its interesting grain and knot patterns. Boards used for table tops truly portray their aging character and rough-sawn appearance. Nail and knot holes are preserved and accentuated to remind you of the wood's previous life. Desktops can be stained using a variety of colors and stains. Dark Oak stain is pictured here. Desktop is finished with a lacquer product that can be cleaned with simply soap and water. Custom metal base, painted black.

Every piece is different with grain and its own uniqueness due to its handmade nature, so color will vary slightly.
Please note: ALL of these options are stains, NOT PAINT and will therefore show the grain of the wood and its variations. Should you want them painted, please message us prior to placing your order to see if it is possible to accommodate.    
 
All wood projects are finished with a UV protectant, laquer-based finish, rendering them moisture and stain proof.  Projects come to you as a maintence-free product. No oiling or cleaning chemicals required; soap and water only to clean.
